Canvas of Self: Candlelit Circle & Music Night

On Friday, February 16, 2024, a private apartment in Sant Gervasi, Barcelona, flickered with candlelight as a small group gathered for Canvas of Self. This unique evening unfolded in two chapters: first, a women’s circle of reflection, then a night of live music and connection at Bar Muga.

Part 1: The Circle

Facilitated by Sandeep, a therapist and coach rooted in both Western psychology and ancestral wisdom, the circle created a safe space to pause, breathe, and listen inward. Participants explored belonging, connection, and the wisdom carried within their bodies.

It was a space where silence was as sacred as words, and where each woman’s story found resonance in the collective.

Attending the women's circle led by Coach Sandeep Johal was a revealing and touching experience. Sandeep creates a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where every woman feels heard and valued. Her guidance helped me unlock new levels of self-awareness and confidence. Through thoughtful exercises and meaningful conversations, I connected deeply with myself and other incredible women. After the session I felt inspired and empowered.

Part 2: The Music

The circle then gave way to community celebration at Bar Muga, where the intimacy of live acoustic music created a warm, soul-stirring contrast. Attendees shared drinks, laughter, and conversation — weaving the inner discoveries of the circle into real-life connections.

Why It Resonated

"Canvas of Self" was a reminder that healing and joy are not separate experiences. Sometimes, the most profound transformation happens when we hold space for introspection and then open our hearts to celebration.

As founder of Iguality, I saw how the event we carried out with Beats for Relief allowed us to reach a new audience that can support Iguality, and learn more about equality and inclusivity. We are very thankful for the fruitful and impactful collaboration and look forward to the next one! - Vincent Simon van Grondelle
